I’m a security engineer at Emproof, working in the software protection field. I have a solid background in reverse engineering, static analysis and research and development related to automatic reverse engineering programs, such as disassemblers, decompilers and intermediate languages development.
I hold a master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Università degli Studi di Verona. My work has appeared at leading industry conferences, such as REcon 2025, and REverse 2026, and I will be speaking again at REcon 2026. I also contributed to the evaluation of obfuscators at Checkmate@CCS 2025.
Most of my open-source work is written in Rust. The most popular projects I posted on GitHub are IPA, a GUI analyzer for deep-diving into PDF files, and ptxNinja, a Binary Ninja plugin for reverse engineering PTX, the virtual ISA behind CUDA-based GPUs. I also contribute to obfuscation_analysis that helps analysts to deobfuscate Mixed-Boolean Arithmetic expressions.
I write here irregularly about whatever I’m working on: usually deobfuscation, binary analysis, or reverse engineering of real-world software. If you want to follow along, the RSS feed is the most reliable way; I also post on Mastodon and X.
The best way to reach me is by email at altamura@nicolo.dev. For code, see GitHub (also known as seekbytes).
